- 2 teaspoons oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 500g chuck steak, cubed
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 sticks celery, sliced
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 Continental Stock Pot Beef
- 6 cups (1500mL) water
- ½ cup pearl barley
- Heat oil and brown onion, beef, carrots and celery. Add paprika and cook for another minute.
- Add Continental Stock Pot, water and pearl barley, bring to the boil, cover and simmer gently for 1 hour or until meat is tender.
- Serve with crusty bread.
- Hint: Serve with sour cream and chives.
